Sevilla close the door on possible Ramos return
The defender remains without a team and despite being willing to make an economic sacrifice to return to Nervión, the club have closed the door on the possibility.

Weeks after it was confirmed that he would not continue at Paris Saint-Germain and with time running out before the European transfer markets close, Sergio Ramos is still without a team. The defender has received offers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and MLS with the player turing these down as the veteran had dreams of a return to his boyhood club Sevilla FC but those hopes are now dashed.
Ramos was keen on a Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán return to the point where the player was prepared to a significant pay cut despite a potential return to the club splitting opinion among the club’s fanbase with many open to a welcome back for the player from Camas with another sector still angry with the defender for years of what they feel were provocative gestures in Sevilla-Real Madrid games.

Orta says no
The debate among Sevilla fans is now hypothetical after Víctor Orta, the new sporting director made it quite clear that the door is not open for a Ramos return. Speaking at the presentation of new signing Djibril Sow he stated: “In the current squad have, there is no possibility of Sergio Ramos coming back because there are six central defenders so that option is ruled out”.
