It's a brilliant header at the back post and Zubkov opens the scoring for Shakhtar. Madrid have been caught off guard at the beginning of the second half.

Trubin has denied Madrid on a couple of occasions but Shakhtar have grown into the game.

Valverde hits it superbly from distance. Trubin manages to tip the powerful effort over.

Ancelotti has made changes with one eye on El Clásico.
Benzema has turned it on. Maybe tonight is the night for his first goal since the end of August.
Trubin denies Benzema again, this time from a very tight angle.
Benzema then plays Rodrygo in. Trubin stops it from the same angle.
Shakhtar are growing more and more into the game. A corner from the right is cleared by Rudiger and Rodrygo. Madrid have had to deal with some more pressure from the Ukrainian outfit but it remains 0-0.
Another fine piece of defending by Nacho. This time he reads the situation well and slides to clear the danger.
Stepanenko is down after getting Kroos' strike straight in the head. That looked very painful. It's rising and catches him in the face, even worse than the head!

Zubkov goes 1v1 with Nacho. The Spaniard doesn't dive in and eventually blocks the shot. Shakhtar have a corner. It comes to nothing. Nacho showed all his experience there, standing his ground against Zubkov.
Tchouameni trips Traore in the box but Grinfeeld says it's not a penalty.
Madrid have been unable to break the home side down. Tchouameni picks the ball up in a central position but his chipped cross is just too high.
Tonight's game is in Warsaw. Shakhtar, from Ukraine, signed a one-year lease agreement with Legia Warsaw to use their Municipal Stadium (Stadion Wojska Polskiego) in the Polish capital for all of their Champions League home games this season.
