At Nashville’s Geodis Park today, Sunday Mar. 1, the USWNT begins its bid to reclaim the trophy it lost to Japan in 2025.
Chasing its eighth title in the SheBelieves Cup, the United States women’s national team kicks off its 2026 campaign against Argentina today - and is out to reclaim the crown it lost in last year’s edition of the round-robin tournament.
Since the SheBelieves Cup’s inception in 2016, the USWNT has won all but three of the competition’s 10 editions. However, after a run of five straight tournament triumphs, the Stars and Stripes lost out to Japan in 2025, relinquishing the trophy in a 2-1 defeat to the Asians in a matchday-three decider in San Diego, California.

What is the USWNT’s recent form & H2H record vs Argentina?
Currently on a six-game winning run - a sequence which, most recently, witnessed thumping victories over Chile and Paraguay in January - the USWNT opens up its latest SheBelieves Cup bid against an Argentinian team that is making its second appearance at the event.
Ranked 30th in the world - 28 places behind the tournament hosts - Argentina lost all three games at the 2021 edition, including a 6-0 hammering by the USWNT in Orlando, Florida.
Overall, the USWNT and Argentina have faced off six times in all competitions, with the Americans winning every encounter. The countries’ last meeting came in October 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky, where the USWNT prevailed 3-0 in an international friendly.
Canada raises SheBelieves curtain against Cafeteras
The USWNT and Argentina’s matchup at Nashville’s Geodis Park is today’s second SheBelievesCup game; earlier in the day, Canada and Colombia get the 2026 tournament underway at the Tennessee arena.
Runners-up in 2024, the Canadians are making their SheBelieves Cup return after missing out 12 months ago; the Colombians, meanwhile, are aiming to improve on a third-place finish on their tournament debut in 2025.

Viewers in the U.S. will be able to watch English-language TV coverage of the USWNT vs Argentina on TNT and truTV, and the streaming platform HBO Max. A Spanish-language broadcast will air on Universo and the streaming service Peacock.
Canada vs Colombia will also be available to stream on HBO Max (English) and Peacock (Spanish).
