Simeone and Vinicius see yellow after Super Cup spat
The Brazilian striker was substituted by Xabi Alonso in the 80th minute of the Spanish Super Cup semi-final between Real Madrid and Atletico.


The writing was already on the wall in the first half of the second Super Cup semi-final in Riyadh after Atleti coach Diego Simeone and Madrid striker Vini Jr. had already tangled.
Movistar Plus images showed the Argentine coach goading the player during the first half saying: ‘Florentino (Perez) is going to kick you out. Remember where you heard it first".

As the Brazilian winger was later substituted with just ten minutes of the game remaining, Simeone, in true pantomime villain once again piped up and asked Vini to pay attention to the reaction of the crowd where some whistles were audible.
The player had to be restrained by the Real Madrid backroom staff and both the player and Atletico coach were awarded yellow cards for their antics from the match official.

The winner of the game progress to face FC Barcelona on Sunday for the first silverware of the 2025-26 season.
