Steven Gerrard has been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
Gerrard, who was sacked by Premier League club Aston Villa in October, returns to club management after a spell away.
The former Liverpool captain replaces Spanish coach Antonio Cazorla in the dugout at Al-Ettifaq.
Who are Al-Ettifaq?
Al-Ettifaq finished the last league campaign in seventh place and are from Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
On their social channels on Monday, Al-Ettifaq wrote: “We’re thrilled to announce Steven Gerrard is our new head coach.”
Big names join Saudi league
The Saudi Pro League continues to sign some of the biggest names in European football, with Karim Benzema, Rúben Neves, Kalidou Kouliably, N’Golo Kanté and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy all making moves from their respective clubs.
Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozović is the latest player to join the ever-growing league.
