Tchouameni out and Rudiger a doubt ahead of Sunday’s Madrid derby
The French player was yellow carded in the win over Getafe and will miss the game against city rivals Atletico at the Bernabeu next weekend.
Alarm bells are ringing at Real Madrid ahead of Sunday’s derby against Atlético Madrid. In Thursday’s win at Getafe, Frenchman Aurélien Tchouameni was shown a yellow card after a last minute tackle on Gastón and match official De Burgos Bengoetxea had no hesitation in showing him the yellow (and fifth of a cycle).
Tchouameni will now miss the weekend’s clash against Atleti at the Bernabéu. The French player had earlier moved to a centre back role to cover the vacancy left by Ferman defender Rüdiger, who had to leave at halftime through injury and is a doubt ahead of the derby on Sunday.
Rudiger doubts
Real Madrid club sources claim that the German international has suffered a very strong blow to the left thigh but rule out muscle injury, so his presence in the derby is not completely ruled out.
The next 24 hours will be critical for the defender given the quick turnaround ahead of the next game for Ancelotti’s men and if, as the club officials maintain, the German suffered severe bruising, he should be ready to participate in the game on Sunday.
However, should tests reveal muscular tissue damage, then a question mark would surround the player being ready to play in a such a short space to time after sustaining the injury.
