Jesús Manuel Corona’s future at Sevilla is up in the air and on Tuesday he stated that he would be willing to return to Mexico. “I would love to return to Mexico, it is my country, I am open to everything. As for the National Team, I was not with them, I met Cocca by video call and he seemed to be a very good person, very frank. It went wrong, unfortunately. Jaime has arrived and he is doing very well. We hope he continues to do well, that we continue to have him,” he explained.

Possible Chivas interest

He spoke about the alleged interest from Chivas. “From Chivas, no… I think, maybe, I don’t know. Sorry,” he said, trying to avoid talking about an approach from the Mexican club.

The Mexican forward does not believe that returning to Mexico is a setback and has applauded those who have done so, such as Diego Lainez. “It is respectable, everyone is living their life, everyone is experiencing the opportunities they have, what is presented to them at that moment and well, Lainez has just become champion,” he said.

World Cup injury

The forward added that the injury that kept him out of the last World Cup is finally behind him. “I am doing much better. Physically, emotionally, getting over what happened to me. It was obviously very hard. I have missed many good things like the World Cup and also things with Sevilla. I am 100 percent sure that I can reach that level, I can come back and I will continue working to be there”.

On the other hand, he was enthusiastic about the Seville derby that he will play on Wednesday against Betis, in the city of Guadalajara, where he will face another Mexican, Andrés Guardado. “The truth is that when you face another Mexican while in Spain and now being here in Mexico to be able to bring our people together, we feel very proud of each other. He (Guardado) has had an exemplary career,” concluded Tecatito.
