Erik ten Hag has been confirmed to take over as manager for Manchester United at the end of the season. This makes him he fifth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson, when the club was champions of England. Now, they’re struggling to even finish at fourth.

Ten Hag has a daunting task ahead of him as the team look to rebuild next season, facing a clearout of several players and two leading scouts (Jim Lawlor and Marcel Bout).

“He definitely has a big, big job to do,” said former Liverpool player José Enrique. “City and Liverpool are far too ahead in everything, so it’s going to be very difficult for United and it’s going to take them a while to catch up to them, if they do.”
