The 1.5 billion dollar Argentina-Brazil Superclásico
Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina need just one point to secure their place at next year’s World Cup as they face Brazil in Buenos Aires.

Tension will be sky-high in Buenos Aires on Tuesday evening as the Argentine capital hosts the Superclásico and despite the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar absent, no love is lost as the Albiceleste go head-to-head with the Seleçao.
A point is all Lionel Scaloni’s team need to seal qualification for the 2026 World Cup, while the Canarinha are looking to maintain the good momentum after the victory against Colombia.

The match will see some of the most expensive talent in the soccer world amassed on the pitch at the Mas Monumental. Between both teams, they have a market value of over $1.5 billion despite the absence of stars such as Messi, Neymar, Éder Militao and Lautaro Martínez.

Euphoria in Argentina
The Argentine fans are still living the dream and just last week, thousands packed into the Huracan stadium for an ‘open doors’ training session.
Even the president of the AFA, Chiqui Tapia, expressed his enthusiasm for qualifying against their arch-rivals: “Hopefully we can achieve the senior team’s goal of qualifying for the World Cup next week with our fans, which is what we all want.”
Brazil bouncing back
New coach Dorival Júnior is finally getting a tune from his Brazil team after a sluggish start to the CONMEBOL qualifying stage. The Seleçao now lie third in the table and will be hoping for a strong showing against their neighbors with their presence at the 2026 World Cup all but guaranteed with six of the competing ten teams securing a ticket for the FIFA tournament.
