Cristiano Ronaldo

The astonishing Cristiano Ronaldo goals statistic that defies all logic

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 927th career goal for Al Nassr in the AFC Champions League and proved he’s one of a kind.

Pese a lo que apunta a una inminente renovación con Al Nassr, el nombre de Cristiano Ronaldo ha estado relacionado con múltiples equipos de cara al Mundial de Clubes.

Update:

Cristiano Ronaldo (or was it his lookalike?) was at it again for Al Nassr against Iranian team Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League, scoring his 927th career goal from the penalty spot in a 3-0 victory, which sends the Saudi Pro League club through to the quarterfinals.

While the goal itself, a penalty slotted high down the middle, was nothing special, it resulted in Ronaldo having a new way to prove that he has pushed the boundaries of physical fitness in the world of soccer.

Cristiano Ronaldo: more goals after turning 30 than before

Of the former Real Madrid star’s 927 goals, he has now scored more of them after then age of 30 than before.

He netted 463 times for Portugal, Sporting CP, Manchester United and Madrid before turning 30 on February 5, 2015, and has scored 464 goals for his country, the LaLiga giants, Juventus, United and Al Nassr since then.

Traditionally, soccer players have long been considered to hit their peak years in their mid-to-late 20s, while many top clubs have been and remain reluctant to offer lengthy contracts to players who are in their 30s, although the cut-off age does appear to have increased in recent years.

Despite elite-level players' constant complaints about competing in too many games, ongoing improvements and knowhow in terms of sports science and nutrition have helped many look after their bodies better and prolong their careers, none more so than Ronaldo.

‘Veteran’ Ronaldo’s accolades and awards

Since turning the 30, the now 40-year-old has won three of his five Champions Leagues, three of his six league titles, two of his five Ballon d’Or awards and both of his The Best FIFA Men’s Player prizes. He also won his first international trophy, Euro 2016, with Portugal at the age of 31.

The next question is: how long can he go on for? The 1,000 career goals milestone is “only” 73 goals away.
