The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 are to take place in Paris on Monday 27 February 2023, with Karim Benzema, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé up for The Best Men’s Player.
Will Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappé or Lionel Messi be named The Best FIFA Men’s Player? Will Alex Morgan, Alexia Putellas or Beth Mead scoop the women’s prize? It’s only been a few short months since Benzema and Putellas picked up the Ballon d’Or for their exploits in 2021-22 but, not to be outdone by France Football, FIFA are now gearing up to present their own awards.
When are The Best FIFA Football Awards?
The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 will take place in Paris on Monday 27 February 2023, with the ceremony scheduled to get going at 3pm ET. For the first time since January 2020, guests will be able to attend the event in person rather than virtually (due to the Covid-19 pandemic, just in case you’d forgotten about that…).

How were the nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 selected?
Nominees for The Best players’, goalkeepers’ and coaches’ awards were chosen by two expert panels – one for men’s soccer and another for women’s soccer.
Who votes in The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022?
Media representatives, national team coaches, national team captains and the general public were all able to vote in each of the The Best FIFA Football Awards categories, which whittled the nominees in each category down to three finalists. Voting for the general public closed on 3 February although you have until the end of Sunday 26 February to vote for the winner of The Best FIFA Fan Award up until the day before the ceremony (26 February).
