Who are the favourites to replace Mauricio Pochettino at PSG?
PSG are working on recruiting their next manager as Pochettino looks set to depart the club.
PSG are already preparing for next season. One of the main objectives for the Ligue 1 club is a new manager, with Mauricio Pochettino set to leave at the end of the season.
According to French outlet Le Parisien, the favourite to succeed him is still Zinedine Zidane. The former Real Madrid manager is still waiting for the Franch national team job, however, Le Parisian reports that Zidane has asked his staff if they would be willing to follow him to PSG. Zidane is reportedly ready to return to coaching and the current Ligue 1 leaders will give him full decision-making power, something Pochettino has not had in the French capital.
Premier League clubs interested in Pochettino
Southampton and Tottenham have already enquired about Pochettino’s situation. The Argentinian coach is not happy in Paris and has had to deal with continuous problems with PSG sporting director Leonardo, who is also looking to leave the club.
Failing in the Champions League and struggling to deal with the egos of the PSG stars have been the main reasons for his impending departure. The former Spurs boss has been linked with the Manchester United job but Erik Ten Hag is set to take over at Old Trafford.
Julian Nagelsmann has been mentioned as a potential PSG manager despite seeing his Bayern team dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of Villarreal. Other names being mentioned are Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri and Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte.
Leonardo admires Conte, however, as PSG are yet to appoint a new sporting director, no move has been made to contact his entourage.
