Sweden are top of the FIFA women’s world rankings after coming third at the Women’s World Cup Down Under.

Sweden also came third at the 2019 World Cup and reached the semi-final of the Euros last summer.

World Cup winners Spain have moved from sixth to second after their recent success, while runners-up England stay in fourth place.

USA drop two places

The US have been knocked off the top spot of the world rankings for the first time since March 2017 and have fallen to third place following their disappointing World Cup campaign, which saw them eliminated by Sweden in the round of 16.

Andonovski resigns

Vlatko Andonovski resigned as US head coach last week. Assistant coach Twila Kilgore was named interim boss while sporting director Matt Crocker now looks to appoint a new head coach.
