The most curious

STADIUMS

in the world

The passion for football leads to stadiums being built in the most unpredictable places and in the most unbelievable ways.

THE FLOAT STADIUM

Singapore - 27,000 capacity

It is built on water because of the country's lack of space. The stand is also used for the Formula 1  Singapore Grand Prix.

1

MUNICIPAL DE BRAGA

2

ADIDAS FUTSAL PARK

It holds the title of the highest football pitch in the world.  The facility is open to the public!

3

IGRALIATE BATARIJA

Built between two historical monuments: the Tower of San Marco and the Kamerlengo Castle.

4

KRAMYRA STADIUM

Norway - 5,147 capacity

A stadium without stands? For Norwegian fans, the best thing to do is watch the game from the mountain.  A clearance can end up in the sea!

5

LA SALERA

Spain - 1,000 capacity

Belonging to Nazára CD, it is built in the middle of the Camino de Santiago and is maintained by the club and its supporters!

6

PIERLUIGI PENZO

It was built in 1913 between the canal waters, losing ground to the sea like almost everything else in the city of Venice.

7

ALBERTO CHIVO

Mexico - 32,000 capacity

This university stadium is located in Toluca and its stands are reminiscent of the old "Peineta"... like the current stadium of Atlético Madrid.

8

FRANCIS DI GIOVANNI

France - 0 capacity

The home ground of the Union Sportive Marseille. It has buildings nearby where you can watch the game.  This is handy as it has no stands!

9

GOSPIC DOLAC

It was built on the cliffs. From the only tiered backdrop you can admire the nature and the old observation tower.

10

COCODRILOS SPORTS

Venezuela - 3,500 capacity

Located at the foot of a mountain range in Caracas, one of its sides has metal plates to stop a possible rockfall. The dangers of being a fan!

11

OTTMAR HITZFELD

Switzerland - 480 capacity

Located at an altitude of over 2,000 metres in the Alps mountain range, it can only be reached by cable car. And best to have some spare balls!

12

TIMSAH ARENA

Turkey - 43,300 capacity

It was built in 2015 and, although not named as per number 11 on our list, it is likely the only major stadium shaped like a crocodile.

13

NATIONAL STADIUM

China - 80,000 capacity

It is known as "The Bird's Nest" and is equipped with a solar energy and rainwater collection system to irrigate the pitch.

14
