Ciudad de México Update:

Transfermarkt.mx has published its mid-season market value update for the 2025 Apertura, analyzing more than 100 players. The big headline is Allan Saint-Maximin (América), who remains the most expensive footballer in the league at an estimated $13.9 million.

Right behind him is Alexis Vega (Chivas), valued at $10.7 million, with Alejandro Zendejas completing the podium after rising by nearly $1.1 million to reach $9.6 million – the same figure as Álvaro Fidalgo and Ángel Correa.

Also in the top 10 are Erick Lira (Cruz Azul, $9.1m), Diego “Puma” Ruiz (Santos Laguna, $8.5m), Luis Malagón (América, $8.5m), Anthony Martial (América, $8m) and José Paradela (Cruz Azul, $8m).

Declines and rising prospects

One of the most notable drops comes from Tigres forward Ángel Correa, who lost almost $1.1 million, falling from $10.7m to $9.6m, though he still holds a spot among the most valuable players.

At the other end of the spectrum is the breakout of 16-year-old attacking midfielder Gilberto Mora (Xolos), who jumped from $3.2m to $4.8m. That increase makes him the second-biggest riser of the tournament and one of the most sought-after gems in Mexican football.

Other notable gains include Germán Berterame, now valued at $7.5m, and Efraín Álvarez (Chivas), who climbed from $5.9m to $7m, helped by his return to the national team radar.

How Transfermarkt valuations work

The market values listed by Transfermarkt are not actual transfer fees but an estimate of a player’s expected worth in the market. The calculation is based on performance analysis, age, potential, contract situation and discussions within the platform’s community.
