Marcus Rashford has the chance to make Manchester United history on Saturday when the Old Trafford outfit host Reading in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The English forward has been one of United’s standout performers this season and scored a wonderful solo goal on Wednesday when Erik ten Hag’s side won 3-0 in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Rashford’s chance

If Rashford scores during tonight’s game against Paul Ince’s Reading, he’ll become the first United player in history to score in 10 consecutive fixtures at Old Trafford.

Rashford equalled Dennis Viollet’s record of scoring in nine successive home matches when he scored the winner in the recent Manchester derby.

Viollet scored 179 goals in 293 games between 1952 and 1962, setting his record in the 1959-60 season.

Former United and Tottenham striker Teddy Sheringham scored in nine games in a row in the 2000-01 campaign, but he missed a home game against Leeds United during that run.

Kickoff at Old Trafford gets underway at 8pm (UK) local time / 3pm ET in the US.
