The Rolling Stones save Barcelona’s El Clásico headache
Real Madrid are set to face Hansi Flick’s men over the weekend of May 11 in the Catalan capital.

The delay in returning to the Spotify Camp Nou is becoming an ever growing issue for FC Barcelona. The setback in the stadium redevelopment is hitting the club financially and with the tenancy on their current Montjuic home set to expire at the end of April, the venue for the second El Clásico of the season was thrown into doubt.
There was speculation that the game (scheduled for the weekend of May 11) could have been staged in London or Paris with Joan Laporta still optimistic that this ‘plan B’ would not have to be triggered with the club yet to broach the idea to LaLiga or the Spanish Football Federation.
Both domestic governing bodies (along with UEFA/FIFA) would have to provide their approval before the game could be moved abroad.
The Stones come to the rescue
As the club look to negotiate a Montjuic extension into May, the Catalan side were given some good news after it was confirmed that The Rolling Stones will not be touring in Europe next May as was planned with the Stones concert date in Barcelona at the Estadi Olímpic scheduled to clash with El Clásico against Real Madrid on the weekend of 11 May.
FC Barcelona are now trying to get the construction company redeveloping Camp Nou to work around the clock in a desperate bid to get the ground ready for use in early May as well as negotiating with the local council to extend the Montjuic term of residence.
