The ‘Tina Turner kit’ is coming to MLS

The new MLS kit releases from Adidas have largely been well-received with one new kit per team for the 2026 season. From the sleek, understated Inter Miami kit to the San Jose Earthquakes’ tie-dyed jersey, there’s something for everyone.

One kit that really stands out is the new away kit from St. Louis City, which pays tribute to music icon Tina Turner. The new release - named the The Tina Turner Kit - is described in the club’s press release as a nod to “Turner’s electrifying stage presence” and “the energy of her live performances.” The singer’s silhouette is printed in metallic gold on the jersey’s authentication tag and her signature features on the back of the collar.

Although born in Brownsville, Tennessee, Turner moved to St. Louis at the age of 16 and began her illustrious musical career in the city. Turner went on to become one of the best-selling and most iconic music artists of all time, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1986 and a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame in 1991.

“Not only did Tina Turner change music, she impacted culture over decades and continues to permeate it today,” said St. Louis City CEO Carolyn Kindle. “It is a profound honor to celebrate her influence and legacy. St. Louis has long been home to so many artists who have shaped music history and Tina stands at the top of that list.”

The all-gold away kit is a bold look for St. Louis, who have largely stuck to red, white and navy during the team’s first three years in MLS. This season has the feeling of a year of change for the team, who have appointed Yoann Damet as the new head coach for 2026. With changes at coach, sporting director and much of the playing staff, St. Louis will hope that the new-look away kit brings good fortune for the new season.
