WORLD CUP 2022

The USMNT is the second youngest team at 2022 World Cup

The United States men’s national team has an age average of 25 years and two months and it is the second youngest behind Ghana.

Update:
Qatar 2022 tendrá la convocatoria más joven de Estados Unidos desde el Mundial de Italia 1990

The United States was amongst the first teams to arrive at Doha, Qatar ahead of the start of the 2022 World Cup. The players called up from Major League Soccer and the coaching staff led by Gregg Berhalter arrived over the weekend and on Tuesday, Weston McKennie and Antonee Robinson joined the rest of the team to complete the 26-player squad.

The USMNT ready to make history

Out of the 32 countries that qualified for the 2022 World Cup, the USMNT is the second youngest team that will participate in the tournament with an age average of 25 years and two months, just behind Ghana. The core of the USMNT’s golden generation will make their debut at a World Cup after failing to qualify in 2018.

Players like Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah, Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, Brenden Aaronson and Gio Reyna have vast experience playing for their club in Europe’s top tier and are eager to showcase their talent at the World Cup. The United States will make their debut against Wales on November 21 in Group B.

Mexico the second oldest team at the World Cup

The case is different for another CONCACAF team that is ready to go past the Round of 16 for the first time in their history, Mexico. El Tri arrived at the World Cup being the second oldest team in Qatar with an age average of 28.5 years old. The Mexican national team will make their debut on November 22 against Poland in Group C.
