James Rodríguez continues to train alone in Madrid as his representatives speak to would-be suitors. So far, the only team that has made its interest public is Serie A side Botafogo with the Brazilian outfit making their first offer for the Colombian’s signature which was turned down by the former Real Madrid and Everton player.

Globlo Esporte maintain that Botafogo and especially the owner of the club do not want to give up on the desire to secure the central player and are apparently preparing a second offer with the management of the Brazilian club aware that there are another few interested parties lurking.

“John Textor (main ‘Fogâo shareholder) is handling the entire deal and has informed the brokers that he will make a second offer with new financial terms but is aware that the deal is a complicated one but is still keen to bring the Colombian to Rio”, claim the Brazilian outlet.

Mexico and Saudi Arabia interest

The Brazilian club are proposing a fixed monthly salary and variables in the contract which relate to performance on the field (participation in goals and games played).

Rodriguez’s main desire would be to continue in Europe but at present the only interest is emanating from the likes of Mexico, Indonesia and the Saudi Pro League.

“Working on something”, was the last message that James Rodríguez posted on his social networks. The 31-year-old midfielder will wait until the end of the season to define his future hoping that interest arises from a big European club.
