Tigres beat Liga Expansion side Alebrijes Oaxaca 6-1 in a friendly to conclude the FIFA international window, and start focusing fully on the return of activity to the Liga MX - next week’s quarter final first leg against Puebla. Robert Siboldi’s men started their day at 10:20 am at the University stadium, a match in which Diego Lainez missed after contracting flu. André Pierre-Gignac was also unavailable - he worked separately from the rest of the group due to a groin issue, sustained after a fall during the meeting with Atlético San Luis in the regular phase.

There were other absentees - those called up by Mexico for the Nations League ties against Honduras: Sebastián Córdova and Jesús Angulo.

The goals were scored by Raymundo Fulgencio, Fernando Gorriarán, Nicolás Ibáñez, Marcelo Flores, Marcelo Meléndez and Eduardo Tercero, all finding the net in a match that lasted nearly two hours.

Tuesday’s game was the second time that the two clubs faced each other in this international break, with the royals also emerging as winners in the first game played last Saturday, a comfortable 3-0 scoreline.

Now, Robert Dante Siboldi’s pupils are ready to face the big party against Puebla, a crucial first leg at Estadio Cuauhtémoc on 29 November.
