Tigres have signed well in January to give themselves a chance at winning the Clausura 2023.

The Mexican club are the new big spenders in Liga MX, and although they don’t have the most expensive squad in Mexican football, they are the ones who spent the most in the winter transfer window.

Between the transfers of Fernando Gorriarán and Nicolás Ibañez alone, they spent €22 million, a figure that takes them to near the top of the winter spending list.

According to information from Transfermarkt, the signing of Fernando Gorriarán is in the top 20 of the most expensive transfers in January. The Uruguayan midfielder’s transfer is in 18th place on a list led by Mykhailo Mudryk with his transfer from Shakhtar to Chelsea in a deal worth close to €70 million.

Tigres paid €12.2 million for the services of Fernando Gorriarán, who is one of the best midfielders in the Mexican top flight. The signing of Nicolás Ibañez is the 27th most expensive transfer in the world, with the striker costing €10 million.

César Montes on the list

César Montes also made the list with his move to Espanyol. The LaLiga club paid €8 million to Rayados de Monterrey to become the 34th most expensive signing.
