Tigres legend enjoys milestone moment in Toluca tie
Goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán kept a landmark clean sheet in Tigres’ weekend Clausura 2026 stalemate with Toluca.

Although Saturday’s result against Toluca wasn’t what Tigres had hoped for, Matchday 3 of the Clausura 2026 still marked a historic moment for the club, as Nahuel Guzmán continued to elevate his legacy in Mexican soccer.
Guzmán surpasses Ríos shutout total
The 0-0 draw with Toluca gave the Argentine goalkeeper his first clean sheet of the latest Liga MX short tournament. With it, he moved past Adolfo Ríos on the all‑time list of the most reliable goalkeepers in Liga MX history.
With the draw against Toluca, Guzmán reached 206 clean sheets for Tigres, 168 of which have come in Liga MX play - further cementing him as one of the league’s most dependable goalkeepers.
This achievement pushes Guzmán into fourth spot outright on the all‑time clean sheet list in Mexico’s top division.
Historic records in Liga MX
At present, the most effective goalkeeper in Liga MX history remains Jesús Corona, who recorded 197 clean sheets over a 22‑year professional career.
Behind him are Oswaldo Sánchez with 189 and Óscar “Conejo” Pérez with 186, forming the elite group of the most trusted goalkeepers Mexican soccer has ever seen.
