Tigres are being frustrated in their attempts to pull off a transfer-market coup by signing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Rafael Santos Borré. AS México understands that talks between Tigres and Borré are ongoing, but Frankfurt are not going to let him go without a fight.

Frankfurt “don’t want to give Borré away”

Borré's agent, Martín Araoz, has spoken of his 27-year-old client’s unhappiness at the Bundesliga club over his lack of game time, but Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, has made it clear that any team interested in the Colombian’s services will have to pay a sizeable fee to sign him.

“I don’t really understand what was said,” Krösche told Sky Sports. “I think he feels comfortable with us. He is a very important player for us who will have playing time. I don’t want to give Rafael Borré away! We don’t want to lose him - we want to keep the team together.”

Tigres tabled an offer for Borré in recent days, but it was rejected out of hand.

Further complicating Tigres’ efforts to sign Borré, AS México has learned, is the fact that the player is keen on a return to River Plate, who have shown major interest in re-signing him. Borré spent four years with the Argentinian club before moving to Germany in 2021.
