Tigres players who have previously won the Liga MX
Several members of Robert Siboldi’s team already know what it’s like to be crowned champions of the Mexican league.
Tigres will be attempting to become two-time Liga MX champions, lifting the title for the second consecutive time by the end of next week - to do so, they must beat the team that finished top of the table in the regular phase, Club América.
Robert Siboldi boasts a team full of champions - players who have already experienced winning the Liga MX and that alone could give them an undeniable advantage in the series against América. Furthermore, they will have something else to boost their confidence - the knowledge of having defeated, in the same year, the two most popular clubs in the country.
Nahuel Guzmán, André-Pierre Gignac and Javier Aquino have been champions five times, a guarantee seal for the final against the Águilas. Captain Guido Pizarro is close behind with four championships, and players such as Luis Quiñones, Rafael Carioca, Jesús Angulo and Miguel Ortega all have three.
Argentine forward Nicolás Ibáñez could experience a dream year for any Liga MX player, as he has the possibility of becoming a three-time consecutive champion, something never before seen in Mexican soccer. He was part of the Pachuca side that won the Apertura 2022, then clinched the title again with Tigres back in May.
