Tottenham monitor Sebastián Cáceres’ situation
The London club are keeping an eye on the Uruguay international.
Sebastián Cáceres impressed for Uruguay in their recent match against Brazil and Tottenham are now believed to be showing an interest in the 24-year-old, sources have told English outlet Football Insider.
Uruguay defeated the five-time world champions at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, in a game that turned out to be historic as Marcelo Bielsa’s side had not beaten Brazil for 22 years.
The América player was one of the standout performers in a backline with Nahitan Nández, Mathías Oliveira and Ronald Araújo. According to the aforementioned media, other teams such as Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle and Manchester United are also monitoring the defender.
Cáceres has been an important part of Bielsa’s side in the qualifiers, starting and playing every minute in the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil. According to Transfermarkt, he is worth around €3.5m.
