UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin spoke about the Super League, saying they would fight against the “handful of millionaire oligarchs”.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus are the teams still involved with the tournament, which was unveiled a year ago but failed in less than two days.
Just a day before his speech, EUFA announced a flagship of the Champions League. He also criticized FIFA, reminding them that Barcelona, Madrid, and Juve could still be sanctioned if the Disciplinary Committee saw it as necessary.
“Football is the winner, it is resilient,” said Ceferin in his speech. “It cannot be dictated by power. It cannot be privatized by a minority, no matter how powerful that minority is.”
