United States - Colombia: USMNT lineup and team news
Gregg Berhalter has named a strong team with Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun and Tim Weah leading the line.
The United States’ Copa América summer begins with a tough test against Colombia in the first of the pre-tournament friendlies. Colombia are one of the most in-form teams on the continent and remain unbeaten under head coach Néstor Lorenzo.
USMNT come into the game off the back of a successful CONCACAF Nations League campaign, beating Mexico in the final back in March. However the competition this summer will be off an entirely different order and Gregg Berhalter is preparing his team with challenging pre-Copa fixtures.
For the visit of Colombia on Saturday, USMNT have named an exciting starting XI with Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna and Timothy Weah all featuring from the start.

Who is in the USMNT roster?
Ahead of the Copa América, which starts with Argentina - Canada on 20 June, the United States will play two pre-tournament friendlies, against Colombia and Brazil. Berhalter has named a training squad of 27 players for the two fixtures, which will have to be trimmed down to 26 by 12 June.
Tournament rules stipulate that each roster must include three goalkeepers, meaning that Matt Turner, Sean Johnson and Ethan Horvath look certain to make the cut. Beyond that, it’s not clear which of the remaining 24 players will be dropped for the tournament.
The United States have particular strength in midfield but with so many central players in the squad that might be an area that Berhalter decides to trim. Timothy Tillman has made a solid start to the season with LAFC but it would not be a major surprise if he was removed from the squad ahead of the roster submission deadline next week.
“This summer presents an opportunity for us to progress and grow as a team as we continue to build towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” Berhalter told reporters recently. “We have a talented group of players and are excited about the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the world.”
