United States U-23′s get ready for Paris 2024 with two friendly games in Spain

The U.S. qualified for the 2024 Olympics with a solid showing at the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship in Honduras, defeating the host nation 3-0 in the semifinals to secure an Olympic place.

U.S. Men’s Olympic Soccer Team head coach Marko Mitrović has called up 20 players to attend a training camp in San Pedro del Pinatar in the Murcia area of Spain. The US side will continue their preparations ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris and will face Iraq on Saturday, 18 November and then face Morocco the following Tuesday with both matches set to be played at the Pinatar Arena.

This will be the second training camp for the U.S. Men’s Olympic Team as they are set to grace an Olympics for the first time since 2008. The Olympic soccer tournament is restricted to players under the age of 23, with an allowance for three overage players.

The game against Iraq will get underway at 11:00 am (ET) with the game against the North Africans kicking off at the earlier time of 09:00 am (ET).

Paris 2024 schedule

16 men’s teams will play games in Paris along with the cities of Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Etienne being used.

As hosts, France will open their men’s Olympic Football tournament on 24 July in Marseille, while the women’s team will kick-off on 25 July in Lyon – the same stadium which hosted both semi-finals and final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.

The draw for the competition is expected to be made in early 2024.
