A bright first half, then overshadowed by a dull second half where the constant changes interrupted the flow of he game. Uruguay had the better chances but a draw is probably a fair result.

Decent effort from Pulisic as the Chelsea player screws his shot wide. The US arguably now top now as Uruguay seem to have faded somewhat.

A quick look around reveals a pretty full stadium. A handful of empty seats but looks better than the 80% occupation that was earlier anticipated.
Plenty of noise being generated by the US fans with expectation high for an entertaining contest.

There will be a heavy sprinkling of light blue shirts peppered among the fans at the stadium in Kansas City tonight with plenty of fans expected to support Diego Alonso's men. Sky blue incidentally is also the colour of local side Sporting KC who play at the Children's Mercy Park ground.

The US Soccer Federation congratulated Wales on reaching the Qatar World Cup after a narrow 1-0 win in Cardiff saw the 'Dragons' advance to a World Cup finals for the first time since 1958. They also paid tribute to the Ukraine national side and the example they have shown with the backdrop of the war.

The United States had enough against Morocco with several flashes of their star player Christian Pulisic (Chelsea) but tonight they expect a much more demanding duel against the experienced Uruguay.
“It’s going to be incredible. A lot of us are young and we’re still getting that experience against such high-level teams,” said striker Tim Weah (Lille), scorer of a goal against Morocco, on Friday.
“We have to stay focused and go out on the pitch with a lot of heart even though it’s a friendly. We want to show that we mean business,” stressed the son of former footballer and current Liberian president George Weah.
