The United States can book their place in the final of the CONCACAF Nations League when they take on Jamaica on Thursday. USMNT have dominated this competition in recent years and are looking to win their third consecutive title.

Head coach Gregg Berhalter has named a strong squad for the March international break and will be hoping to build momentum ahead of a key period for soccer in the country. The US hosts Copa America this year and is one of three co-hosts for the 2026 World Cup.

But first on the horizon is the arrival of an in-form Jamaica team. The Reggae Boyz are without a number of Premier League players but still pose a real threat, meaning that Berhalter will likely pick a full-strength team on Thursday, with players drawn from the likes of AC Milan, Juventus and PSV Eindhoven. Here’s how we think the US will line up against Jamaica...

USMNT predicted XI: Matt Turner; Sergino Dest, Miles Robinson, Tim Ream, Antonee Robinson; Yunus Musah, Weston McKennie, Malik Tillman; Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun, Timothy Weah

Who could replace Tyler Adams as USMNT captain?

Ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Gregg Berhalter named midfielder Tyler Adams as the team’s captain. It was not the first time that he had led USMNT, previously sharing duties with Christian Pulisic.

Adams has been called up by Berhalter again for the upcoming internationals but his place in the starting XI is far from assured. The midfielder has barely featured for Premier League side Bournemouth this year, owing to a long-term hamstring injury.

He made his return from injury in his side’s dramatic 4-3 win over Luton Town last week but is unlikely to feature from the start on Thursday. In the past, both Pulisic and Matt Turner have deputised with the captain’s armband.

Pulisic is, even including Adams, the member of the current squad who has been captain most frequently. The AC Milan forward has been in good form in Serie A this year and recently beat his personal best goals tally for a single season. If Adams is unable to start against Jamaica, Pulisic will almost certainly take the armband.
