While Berhalter’s being investigated by the Federation, interim manager Anthony Hudson will try to bring back some normality during this January camp while they search for a permanent manager, although Berhalter hasn’t been ruled out completely.
Hudson will have quite an inexperienced squad going into the game against Serbia and Colombia later on, as of the 24 players selected, 13 have never featured for the senior side.
The USMNT hasn’t lost an international game on home soil since a 3-0 loss to Venezuela in Cincinnati back in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Serbs had a disappointing performance in the World Cup, where they couldn’t match Brazil and Switzerland’s game despite having a talented squad.
Moreover, they weren’t able to defeat Cameroon, who was considered to be the weakest opponent (3-3), so they ultimately ended up bottom in Group G.
Coach Dragan Stojkovic has chosen quite a few newcomers to the list for the game against the USMNT, with only three players having previously featured for the senior squad.
The Serbian team, which will fancy their chances of qualifying for the upcoming Euros, will try to break their three-match winless streak, the longest they have gone without an international win since 2017.

The USA proved in Qatar that despite being a young team, they are very skilled and with players who are having good performances with their respective teams. Moreover, they will be playing in front of their fans, which could prove decisive.
Serbia shouldn’t be overlooked, but in the World Cup they weren’t able to win a game, which ended up in an early elimination in the group stage. The addition of inexperienced players to the squad at an international level doesn’t seem to be an extra weapon for the Europeans, at least not on paper.
