USMNT vs Uzbekistan: as it happened
Berhalter back to winning ways
In his first game back, Gregg Berhalter is off to a winning start with the USMNT.
FT: USMNT 3-0 Uzbekistan
It's all over in St. Louis!
The USA have beaten Uzbekistan 3-0.
And there goes the full-time whistle!
The US have a penalty!
Dest drives forward with it, before laying it off to Aaronson, who picks out Pepi. The forward curls it first time from 18 yards into the far left corner. It's a lovely curling effort and it puts the game to bed.
Uzbekistan work it really nicely near the corner flag and get a cross into the box. Dest is there, however, and he's able to clear the danger.
The ball is played back to Turner, who is very close to his goal line.
Uzbekistan press, but the Forest keeper is able to clear in time. He has been excellent this evening.
We have more USA changes incoming, as they see this one out.
Robinson is down getting treatment. It looks like a calf issue.
A teasing ball is delivered into the 6-yard box. Shomurodov rises highest but can't hit the target with his header. It remains 1-0 to the USA.
Masharipov gets into the inside left channel... he's in acres of space but pulls his strike wide of the near post. It's a great chance for the visitors to make it 1-1.
St. Louis has served as a good host to the USA through the years. Their record is 7-1-3, with the only defeat coming in the first match, a 3-2 defeat to Canada in World Cup Qualifying on July 6, 1957.
It has a proper friendly feel to it, but the US are not home and hosed just yet.
Uzbekistan have been kept out by Turner, who has been brilliant so far.
Berhalter is about to make a couple of changes for the US, as they hold onto their narrow 1-0 lead.
Khojiakbar Alijonov is a threat once again down the right flank. This time his low effort is saved by Forest netminder Matt Turner at the near post.
Christian Pulisic sends the free from the left short. It eventually lands at the feet of his Milan team-mate Yunus Musah, who is in an offside position.
Gregg Berhalter was re-hired on June 16 after a spell away from the squad. After becoming the second-fastest manager in team history to achieve double-digit victories (17 games), Berhalter led the USA to back-to-back confederation championships in 2021, defeating Mexico in both the inaugural Concacaf Nations League and Gold Cup finals.
Uzbekistan have a free on the left, about 40 yards from goal. Masharipov takes it.
It falls to Eshmuradov at the back post but his effort is dragged wide.
I have a USMNT change to report.
And we're underway for the second half!
The USA lead 1-0 if you're just joining us.
It's 1-0 to the USA as we head into the break. Tim Weah has scored the only goal of the game so far. It was a fine first-time strike after some good play by Weston McKennie to set him up.
And there's the whistle for halftime!
Shomurodov is through on goal - 1v1 - but Turner comes out to deny him with a fine stop and keep the US ahead.
There will be three minutes added on.
Shukurov threads a ball through the lines but there is just too much weight on it and Turner comes out to collect.
Urunov shoots over!
Masharipov's cross comes in from the right and it falls to Urunov, who can't keep his effort - from just inside the box - down.
Pulisic sends his corner in from the right but it's closer to the 18-yard line than the 6-yard box and the away side are able to deal with it, as the home fans chant, "Oooohhh USA, USA, USA..."
The US are playing at the home of St. Louis City SC for the second time in a little over two months.
Last time out, they registered a 6-0 victory over Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Gold Cup on June 28. Jesús Ferreira netted a hat-trick on the day.
The USMNT are 11th in FIFA's latest rankings, while Uzbekistan are 74th.
Alikulov curls a cross from the left to the back post. Robinson is on hand to head it away from danger.
Balogun!
The AS Monaco man makes a yard for himself on the edge of the area and drives it low. It hits the target but is an easy save. 1-0
Uzbekistan have never qualified for a World Cup but have become one of the stronger teams in Central Asia in recent times.
What a hit!
Khojiakbar Alijonov goes on a darting run down the right flank. He cuts inside onto his left foot and curls a brilliant effort that hits the top of the bar and sails over.
That could easily have been the equaliser.
Uzbekistan hit the home side with a quick transition, but Shomurodov is flagged for offside.
Uzbekistan send a free in the left. It's a poor delivery and is eventually cleared away by Berhalter's men.
De la Torre shoots!
It's a fine strike. He shoots low from the edge of the box but Yusupov gets down to his left to keep it out. 1-0
Luca de la Torre has been given a chance in midfield in place of the injured Tyler Adams, who recently made the move from Leeds to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The home crowd are really getting behind their country this evening. An early goal helps, of course.
It's been all US so far.
Pulisic gets down the left, before going for a stepover and he then curls a low cross into the box. It's cleared away.
The ball is sent in from the left. McKennie takes it down, before laying it off to Weah, who drills a right-footed effort from a right angle on the right. It flies past Yusupov.
USA 1-0 Uzbekistan
The USA are playing from right to left in an all-blue kit. It's a nice, sunny evening in St. Louis.
And we're underway!
The US team gather into a huddle for some final words.
It's time for the national anthems!
After today's encounter, the USA will face Oman in another friendly in Saint Paul, Minn. on Tuesday, September 12, while Uzbekistan will meet Mexico in Atlanta on the same night.
We'll be getting underway in St. Louis in just under 10 minutes time.
Today is the USMNT's first match since elimination in the Concacaf Gold Cup semifinals on July 12.

Uzbekistan coach: Srecko Katanec
Uzbekistan's coach is Srecko Katanec, a former member of the Yugoslavian and Slovenia national teams. He took over as head coach on August 27, 2021, replacing Vadim Abramov.
Katanec's record with the White Wolves is 13-5-2. The 60-year-old guided Slovenia to its first World Cup in 2002.
When do the USMNT have a competitive game next?

St. Louis awaits
We're in St. Louis for today's match.

US forward Christian Pulisic has had a great start to life with Milan in Serie A, and fellow forward Folarin Balogun is expected to produce again in Ligue 1 this season after a fine campaign with Stade de Reims last time out.
