Valverde: “Pintus is killing us”
The Uruguayan international spoke to the official Real Madrid media channels and offered his views on the early stage of the club’s preseason preparation.
Federico Valverde spoke to the club’s official media and analyzed Real Madrid’s pre-season as the the team prepare to undertake a tour of the United States. The Uruguayan is adamant that good preparation is key to but recognises that the start of pre-season is hard.
The midfielder joked stating that the methods being employed by Real Madrid fitness coach Antonio Pintus were testing stating: “Pintus is killing us, but this is what gives you energy throughout the year”. Energy that, according to the Uruguayan, “is going to give a good feeling when the season is winding down as other teams fall apart.”
The Uruguayan international is looking forward to going to North America and spend time with US Madridistas and expects a large mass of Madrid fans to show up at training sessions and games during the American tour.
A club like Real Madrid must “be aiming for the highest” and the Uruguayan is convinced that they have “a great team, that if we all pull in the same direction, we are going to achieve great things”.
Real Madrid travel Stateside on Wednesday and play four games in the US as they face Milan, Man United, FC Barcelona and Juventus as part of the tour.
