Vasco da Gama eyeing Liga MX top scorer Henry Martín
The América striker is being closely followed by a number of clubs, including the Brazilians, according to journalist Víctor Fernández.
Henry Martín is one of the top Mexican players at the moment and the leading goal scorer in the Liga MX Clausura 2023 with 11 goals. So it’s little wonder that he has attracted the attention of several clubs from other leagues around the world - among them, Vasco da Gama, who according to reports, are keen on signing the striker.
During this week’s La Cancha Libre program, journalist Víctor Fernández revealed details about the the Brazilian club’s presumed interest in the 30-year-old forward who has scored 24 goals and 10 assists in 33 matches for América.
Top scorer
In the 12 games played so far in the current Clausura 2023, Martín has found the net in every game apart from four. On top of his 11 goals, he has 4 assists. He recently overtook Gonzalo Farfán to enter the top 10 of all-time scorers for Club América with 79 goals in 61 games.
Qatar World Cup
Henry didn’t have the best of starts last year, but little by little he improved until he caught the attention of Mexico coach Gerardo Martino, who included him in his 26-man squad for the Qatar World Cup. The striker made two appearances in the tournament, starting the matches against Poland and Saudi Arabia, and ended with one goal, the final match, a 1-2 win over Saudi Arabia.
