REAL MADRID
Vinicius keeps Real Madrid’s sights focused on Barcelona
It was a struggle at El Sadar, but Los Blancos got the job done, in no small part due to their Brazilian forward.
Real Madrid’s success can be attributed in many ways to the efforts and ability of Vinicius Jr. He possesses a unique flair that no other player in the team has and is most likely to be Los Blancos’ MVP this season.
Vinicius stands out for Real Madrid again
Despite being closely watched by the opposition on Saturday, Vinicius was outstanding and compensated for Osasuna’s impressive effort. He constantly battled against Moncayola and utilized his strengths to disrupt the rojilla’s defensive structure with his breaks and runs. The Brazilian also frequently got himself into the penalty area with ease. Although he didn’t convert many of his chances, Madrid’s victory was largely due to Vini’s contributions as he always made himself available and provided the balance that the team needed. Without him, the outcome of the match may have been different.
Osasuna went for a high-paced game that Madrid struggled to keep up with. They lacked the speed needed to handle Arrasate’s high-pressure tactics. Osasuna played to their strengths by relying on their energy, coordination, and conviction, particularly when they were in possession.
Moi Gómez was exceptional in control, making intelligent decisions, and displaying dynamic movement. Few LaLiga players can match his impact on the game. Madrid were also hampered by Ceballos’ slow pace and Rodrygo’s inability to find space, as he was constantly crowded out by the opposition. However, Camavinga and Valverde improved their performances, with the latter contributing to the team’s attack. Álvaro Rodríguez also made an impressive cameo appearance towards the end of the game.
Overall, Madrid emerged victorious and without any significant injuries, which bodes well for their future European aspirations. Once again, Vinicius was the standout player and a key factor in Madrid’s success, and will likely be a focal point of the attack at Anfield on Tuesday.
Osasuna’s pressure gave Madrid plenty of problems. Hunting in pairs and with a very high block, it forced Madrid to take risks. Here Nacho lost a very dangerous ball that led to Budimir’s chance.
