AC Milan, one of European soccer’s most storied and successful teams, has taken on a decidedly American flavour in recent years.

The team is owned by US investment firm Red Bird Capital Partners, who purchased it in August 2022. Last summer USMNT players Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah were signed, both impressing in their debut seasons. There’s even the rapid growth of AC Milan NYC supporters’ group, who follow the team from the other side of the Atlantic.

The latest example of the US influence can be seen in the new seating unveiled at San Siro for Thursday’s Europa League first leg against Roma. Seats in the ‘Club 1899 - Front Row Experience’ are just yards from the field and at eye-level for players. Visitors will be treated to an experience like courtside seats at NBA games, bringing fans closer to the action.

“A first-ever for a top European Club, this initiative solidifies AC Milan’s ongoing commitment to creating new and unforgettable experiences: immersed in the newly redesigned exclusive areas of the stadium by the Rossoneri Club,” the press release explains.

How much do the AC Milan NBA seats cost?

Courtside seats are particularly coveted in the world of basketball and the new San Siro section is just as exclusive. At a typical evening of NBA action you will likely find A-list celebrities populating the front row and that was the same for their inaugural fixture at San Siro, with Italian rappers Ghali and Blanco among the first guests.

For anyone hoping to grab a ticket, keep your eyes peeled. Tickets are not yet available to purchase on the AC Milan website but they should be added in the coming weeks as the team looks to finish the 2023/24 campaign on a high. As a rough estimate, tickets for the ‘Ground Box Experience’ section cost €850 per person for the upcoming Serie A game against Genoa.

The opportunity may not be around for much longer. Milan have already announced their intention to leave the iconic stadium and have revealed plans to build a new 70,000-capacity stadium to the south of the city. They currently share the city-centre venue with rivals Inter Milan but the two old foes may finally be moving out of their shared accommodation.
