WATCH: Messi’s stoic reaction while PSG teammates celebrate title win

Though it was Lionel Messi who scored the opening goal for PSG as they became Ligue 1 champions, he didn’t look too excited about it in the locker room.

A video went viral this weekend after Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title. PSG won the title after a 1-1 tie with Strasbourg on Saturday and it was Lionel Messi who scored the opening goal.

In the video, the whole team is celebrating the win in the locker room with champagne, jumping around, and dancing. Meanwhile, Messi can be seen in the background sitting down, changing his shirt and not really taking part in the celebrations.

Messi’s time at PSG has been complicated. He came to the team after having to leave Barcelona, but not wanting to leave. He had a rough first season and though his playing improved in his second season, the fans were still not sold on the Argentinian. Seven-time Balon d’Or winner Messi faced boos and whistles from PSG fans and was suspended for a few games due to traveling without permission and missing practice after the team lost a game.

Now, this reaction may have fans even more riled up. Oh, and then he skipped the awards ceremony as well, opting to see a Coldplay show instead. Bold opinion, but I doubt Messi is re-signing with PSG after the contract ends. Instead, rumor has it he could either make a move to the U.S. and join Inter Miami in MLS or join his rival Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.
