PREMIER LEAGUE

“We can still be champions” -Arteta

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says they won’t “bottle the last two Premier League games” as Manchester City look to steal away the title.

Arsenal need only lose one game to Nottingham Forest on Saturday to lose their shot at the Premier League title and instead hand it over to Manchester City. This comes after Arsenal blew an eight-point lead earlier in the season. According to Opta, Arsenal have less than a 1% chance of winning the title after spending 248 days at the top. From their perspective though, that means ...“so you’re sayin’ there’s a chance?”

“With two games to go, we can still be champions, against probably the best team in the history of the Premier League,” said Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. “And we are still there. Two games to go and we are still there and we’re not going to bottle that, that’s for sure.”

It’s not all in Arsenal’s hands either though. If City beats Chelsea, they will automatically win the title. Looking ahead to next season, Arteta says whether or not they’ll continue to be title contenders after this year, depends greatly on their next moves.

“What happens next season will depend on what we do how, we evolve and how we start,” said Arteta. “That prediction is very difficult to do today.”
