Weston McKennie’s life in Turin has taken a radical turn. After a loan spell in the Premier League, where he was relegated, the American has returned to Serie A a different player. He is more complete, more determined and eager to put Juventus back in the position from which they should never have left.

The Old Lady managed to win against Frosinone and it was partly due to a stellar performance from Weston, who got the assist to seal the victory. McKennie will say goodbye to the year in second place in the table, just four points behind Inter Milan.

McKennie finding form at Juventus

Against Frosinone, McKennie showed again why he is considered one of the best players of this USMNT generation. The American and his teammates did not have a comfortable match and were even dominated by their opponents at times.

However, it was in the worst moments that McKennie was able to shine. The former Leeds player was a destroyer in midfield with five duels won, five ball recoveries and 93% of accurate passes. With ten minutes to go, the player put the ball in for Dusan Vlahovic to hit a precise header, taking all three points.

Weston should have scored, but he hit the post

The American’s display might even have ended in a goal had it not been for the woodwork, which prevented what would be the best display so far in his Juventus career. At 25 years of age, McKennie has found his place in Massimiliano Allegri’s lineup and has been an undisputed starter since the start of the season.

In a key year for Juventus, who will be looking to return to the top of Serie A after a few seasons in the doldrums due to outside factors; Weston McKennie has put forward his candidacy as the leader of the new Juve to come.
