As in the Clausura 2023 playoffs, Atlético responded to home defeat in the opener with a consolation victory in Mexico City, winning 2-0.
Having knocked San Luis out in the last four, América went on to lift the Mexican league title, beating Tigres in the final.

Although involved in all six games in the above sequence, América head coach André Jardine was only in charge of Los Azulcremas for the last three. The teams’ Clausura 2023 clashes coincided with the Brazilian’s year-and-a-half-long stint as San Luis boss.
