What is Real Madrid’s next Champions League game? UCL fixtures and schedule

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are looking to add to their 15 Champions League titles but face Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and AC Milan in the league phase.

Update:

Real Madrid claimed their 15th European crown earlier this year, beating Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final to complete a famous double. Los Blancos have now won six of the last 11 Champions Leagues and they will be among the favourites to lift it again in 2024/25.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side fear no one when it comes to continental competition but they have been drawn against some genuine European heavyweights in the first iteration of the new-look Champions League. Their league phase fixtures see them face Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan at home and make the tough trip to Liverpool.

They began their 2024/25 journey with a home match against VfB Stuttgart, who are making their first UCL appearance since 2009/10. Goals from Kylian Mbappé, Antonio Rudiger and Endrick gave Carlo Ancelotti’s side a hard-fought 3-1 win.

When is Real Madrid’s next Champions League game?

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have a two-week break before the resumption of Champions League action next month. Madrid travel to LOSC Lille on 2 October, with kick-off set for 3:00 p.m. ET.

Los Blancos had a difficult start to the new campaign in LaLiga, winning just one of their opening three matches. Things have since settled and the reigning Spanish champions have now made in three wins from their first five and sit second in the table, level on points with rivals Atletico Madrid.

Similarly summer signing Kylian Mbappé is starting to find form and, crucially, his scoring boots in the Spanish capital. The Frenchman failed to score in his first three LaLiga games but has now scored three in the last two.

Mbappé's arrival is designed to take this Real Madrid team to the next level, adding an elite-level striker that they lacked in 2023/24. However in the past he has looked more comfortable operating off the left flank, an area already occupied by Vinicius Junior at the Santiago Bernabéu. If Ancelotti can get the best out of Mbappé in the new more central position, Real Madrid will challenge for European honours once again.
