When does Liga MX return after the 2022 Qatar World Cup?

When does Mexico’s league campaign restart after the World Cup finishes on 18 December?

Like planets that forever rotate around the sun, football never stops moving and the Liga MX is about to come roaring towards us at light speed as soon as the World Cup in Qatar is over. The majority of international matches have been and gone, with only the latter stages of the knockout rounds to be concluded. Are you ready for the football to finish so we can all have some more football? Greedy, greedy you.

Mexico’s poor World Cup campaign means that the focus is back on domestic football a little early, but that does not stop us from getting excited about what is to come during the 2023 Clausura campaign.

When does Liga MX return?

The first game back after the break for the Qatar World Cup is Necaxa vs San Luis at the Estadio Victoria in Aguascalientes. Mazatlán play against León on the same day before 4 games on 8 January, including Club América vs Querétaro and Monterrey vs Guadalajara.

The day after, Santos Laguna come up against Tigres UANL before Club Tijuana take on Cruz Azul. Champions Pachuca return on 10 January against Puebla in the final tie of the match day.
