Kylian Mbappé scored his first LaLiga goals for Real Madrid on Sunday, netting twice in a 2-0 win against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu. It feels as if the France captain is now properly up and running with Carlo Ancelotti’s team, but he’ll have to wait nearly two weeks to be able to build on that momentum because of the September international window.

When is Real Madrid’s next game?

The Madrid-Betis clash was the final fixture of matchday four in LaLiga, with matchday five beginning on Friday, September 13. Los Blancos are next in action the following day, Saturday, September 14, when they face Real Sociedad in San Sebastián.

There will be another near two-week break for international games in October, with Madrid playing a total of seven games (five in LaLiga and two in the Champions League) between the two windows.

Madrid’s fixtures before the October international window

After playing against Real Sociedad, they start their 2024/25 UCL campaign with a home fixture against Stuttgart (Tuesday, September 17). Two more league games at the Bernabéu follow against Espanyol (weekend of September 21-22) and Alavés (midweek September 24/25/26).

They then travel to Atlético Madrid in LaLiga (weekend of September 28-29) and Lille in the Champions League (Wednesday, October 2). Their final game before the next international window is at home to Villarreal on the weekend of October 5-6.

The 15-time European champions have made a sluggish start to the season by their own high standards, dropping points in an away games against Mallorca and Las Palmas. That leaves them four points behind league leaders Barcelona, the only team to have a perfect record after four LaLiga fixtures.
