REAL MADRID
When will Arda Güler return to action for Real Madrid?
The Turkish talent will undergo a procedure to help with the recovery from his injury. It could reduce his time on the sidelines.
Arda Güler could be back in action in less than seven weeks after opting to undergo minor surgery. The procedure means his meniscus will not be removed, and thanks to the arthroscopy, the recovery could be shortened by weeks. Madrid will continue to opt for a gradual recovery plan at a steady pace for the young Turkish player.
Madrid’s conservative plan was for an eight-week layoff, after which the condition of the meniscus would be evaluated and whether surgery was necessary. In the end, that deadline has been brought forward.
Possible Güler return
A possible return date is 24 September, against cross-city rivals Atlético Madrid in the Madrid derby at the Metropolitano, although the question is how long Güler will need to make a full recovery.
The player joined Real Madrid’s preseason a week earlier to work under head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is delighted with his qualities. The club still believe he has room for improvement in a physical sense and he is now back to square one.
