When will Chicharito play for Chivas? Injury update
Fernando Gago was clear about the recovery process that the Mexican forward is going through and doesn’t want to take risks.
Javier Hernández has caused a significant stir in his return to Mexican football, rejoining the team where he started his career. Chivas fans are eager to see him on the field, but he is still in recovery after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament rupture last year. And Guadalajara’s coach, Fernando Gago, urges everyone to stop pressuring him and to wait until he is back to 100 percent fitness. But he wasn’t able to provide a clear date for his return to action.

“Regarding Javier, let’s be very honest: don’t put more pressure on him than he already has. Let him be, and he will recover well. When he’s ready, it will be his decision and the coaching staff’s. Let’s not set a deadline because that’s the worst thing that can cross his mind,” Gago said.
“Let’s leave him be; he’s in a very good rehabilitation process, but he still has a way to go. When he’s ready, you will find out before I do. Of course, we need him, we need him training, in the squad, as he was today. There are a lot of positive things, not just seeing him play. Let’s not rush him; we have to wait until he’s 100 percent.”
On another note, he celebrated the 3-2 victory against Toluca, the first under his management.
“I think it also has an emotional effect on the team because the first victory was needed. The overall analysis of the game was good, with the opponent dominating and forcing us to play where we didn’t want to. We wanted to create turnovers and build attacks from there, and we did. The opponent had moments of control. We adjusted, understood the game, took the lead, were quickly equalized.
“In the second half, we had more space. I liked the team; we needed the first victory, and the emotional aspect is noticeable because the guys were eager to win. Tiba unfortunately has a fracture; we will see the recovery times. It’s a shame because he was in very good form. We’ll wait for him and try to ensure that whoever comes in has the best tools so that the team doesn’t feel his absence,” Gago added.
