Everything is set for Dani Alves to make his debut with Pumas UNAM because on Monday he was granted his work visa. The Brazilian international had to travel to Guatemala to complete his paperwork and is set to return to Mexico to join his new teammates.

Dani Alves could make his debut this week

“Everything is ready for his debut,” wrote Pumas on their Twitter account alongside a picture of Alves holding his work visa. The 39-year-old is expected to make an immediate impact on the team and help them make a late push to qualify for the playoffs this tournament.

Pumas UNAM will have back-to-back games at Estadio Universitario and Alves could see minutes in his new home. The capital-based team will host Mazatlán on 27 July and four days later they will face Monterrey.

The last time Alves played a game was on 6 March in the last LaLiga game of the 2021/22 season. The defender started a 2-1 win over Elche that concluded a disappointing campaign for Barça.
