Kevin De Bruyne missed Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday.

The 30-year-old was taken off during City’s 4-1 victory over fellow title challengers Arsenal on Wednesday, with City head coach Pep Guardiola saying afterwards that he had complained of “niggles”.

Guardiola on De Bruyne

De Bruyne, playing in an advanced role behind Erling Haaland, scored twice and provided an assist against Mikel Arteta’s side at the Etihad Stadium, but didn’t make it against Marco Silva’s Fulham.

Guardiola was not able to give an update on key man De Bruyne ahead of the Premier League clash at Craven Cottage.

“He doesn’t feel good. He has some injury and could not travel,” Guardiola told Sky Sports on Sunday.

“No (no timescale on his recovery from injury). I don’t know.”

It now remains to be seen if De Bruyne will be fit for City’s Premier League fixture with West Ham on Wednesday.

Aké on the way back for City

Defender Nathan Aké was the other player missing from the City squad on Sunday. The defender, who is nearing a return and back doing fitness work, was not fit enough to feature at Fulham.
