USMNT captain Tyler Adams joined Bournemouth on a five-year deal from Leeds United in August but has yet to make his first-team debut for the club.

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has revealed that Adams is, however, back in partial training with the first-team squad.

The defensive midfielder, 24, signed for the club carrying an injury and continued his rehab at the Vitality Stadium but is now at a point where he has started to join the squad on the pitch.

Iraola on Adams

“Everyone that was involved last week is ready to play,” Iraola said.

“The only one that’s different and is not so far away is Tyler Adams, he won’t be available for the Brighton game but he has started training partially with the group.

“There is a chance of having him in the next week or two weeks or so.”

Bournemouth “thrilled” with signing

When previously asked about the signing of Adams, Cherries chief executive Neill Blake said: “We’re thrilled to have brought Tyler to the club and he is a player we’ve admired for a long time.”

Blake added: “Tyler is an exciting player who possesses plenty of experience for someone that is just 24 years of age and we’re looking forward to working with him as he’s a player we know will be a great addition to our squad.”
