When will Vinícius return to action for Real Madrid?

Vinícius is edging closer to making his Real Madrid return. A month ago, he picked up a hamstring injury against Celta Vigo at Balaídos, a setback that pointed to a six-week lay-off. The Brazilian forward has been working in the gym for several weeks, strengthening the affected area, and doing cardio in a swimming pool. On Friday he returned to training and is expected to make his full return against Napoli in Naples.

Ancelotti remains cautious

Everything will depend on the ‘risk of relapse’. This is what Carlo Ancelotti asks about when he talks to the club’s doctors. It is something he has done for years, regardless of names or games. It happened, for example, with Karim Benzema in the first leg of the tie against PSG. The same thing happened with Luka Modric last season in the cup final. As there was a minimal risk of relapse, he didn’t play. That’s how firm the Italian is on this issue and that’s how he’s going to be with Vinícius.

That is why his most likely return against Napoli in the Champions League. He should be able to do at least three full training sessions with the squad: on September 29 and October 1 and 2.
